Who we are
World Cuisine Atlas was born from a team of food lovers’ passion for the world’s cuisines. Our mission: to gather, region by region, the dishes that best tell the story and culture of a country — and to make you want to cook them at home. For any question about your personal data, contact us at

Data we collect
We collect different categories of data depending on how you use the site:
- Browsing: IP address, browser type, pages visited — through our hosting provider (o2switch) and Google Analytics (Site Kit), for audience measurement purposes.
- Comments: if you leave a comment, your IP address and your browser’s user agent are recorded for anti-spam detection (Akismet, Automattic). A hash of your email address may be sent to Gravatar to display your avatar.
- Contact: your email address and the content of your message when you write to us at
. - Media: if you upload an image, avoid files containing EXIF geolocation data, which other visitors can extract.
- Security: our security plugin (Wordfence) processes IP addresses to detect and block malicious behaviour.

Our site uses several categories of cookies:
- Strictly necessary cookies: chosen language (Polylang), session, preferences.
- Audience measurement cookies: Google Analytics.
- Advertising cookies: Google AdSense (once activated), used by Google and its partners to personalise ads.

We neither sell nor rent your personal data to third parties.
International data transfers
Some of our service providers (Google, Automattic) are based in the United States and may process your data there. For visitors located in the European Union, these transfers rely on the EU-US Data Privacy Framework and/or the European Commission’s standard contractual clauses.
Retention periods
- Comments: kept for as long as the site exists, unless you request deletion.
- Audience measurement data: according to the Google Analytics settings (check the GA4 account, generally 14 months).
- Contact emails: kept for as long as needed to handle your request.
